IRISH CLOWNS A.C.
An Illinois Not For Profit Corporation Established December 18, 1930
The Irish Clowns A. C. started in 1930 and has an official City of Chicago Charter, making it one of the oldest social clubs of its kind recognized by the city. Our Club has nothing to do with clowns or even being Irish and although we march in a St. Patrick’s Day Parade each year, we do so as a way to have a good time, celebrate our city and recognize the heritage of our chosen name. We have members ranging in age from 25 to 80 and the majority of us have been in the Chicago area all of our lives. We have many 2nd and some 3rd generation Irish Clowns.
Our Club membership is limited to seventy members (males – 21 and over). However, many of our activities are planned to include our significant others and in most cases, families and invited guests. Our membership is made up of many varied professions. Our regular meetings are not only a time to get together and plan outings, but also a time to relax with friends an do a little bonding about shared interests. We currently have 51 members.
